Monteverdi Tuscany
Monteverdi Tuscany, Val d'Orcia, Tuscany, Italy
In the heart of a living hilltop village in Tuscany's Val d'Orcia, Monteverdi Tuscany is a rare retreat overlooking the valley and Mount Amiata. Hidden among the rolling hills of this UNESCO-listed landscape, it is reached via winding historic roads, making arrival feel less like a journey and more like a discovery.
Its approach to luxury is rooted in provenance: thoughtful restoration, regional craftsmanship and meaningful connections to both the landscape and the area's cultural heritage.
When Michael Cioffi Sr. first discovered Castiglioncello del Trinoro, the village had become partly abandoned, with many of its remaining residents among its oldest generations. Guided by a vision to restore both vitality and purpose to the hamlet while creating a genuine cultural community around it, he gradually helped bring the village back to life.
Working closely with his vision, designer Ilaria Miani carefully restored the spaces, creating contemporary interiors, yet deeply anchored in Tuscany. Noble fabrics, colours inspired by the changing seasons and Renaissance paintings, and subtle references to the region's Etruscan heritage all contribute to a sense of belonging that feels both timeless and authentic.
Here, time seems to slow. Art, culture, gastronomy and craftsmanship come together naturally, framed by the extraordinary landscapes of the Val d'Orcia and a village whose story continues to unfold. Get inspired by some of the properties available Stay experiences here
